In the final week of the Football World Cup, flight finder Skyscanner.it reviewed the flight search results in Italy related to semi-finalists of last year’s championships: Croatia, France, Belgium and England.
The goal of the statistics, which also took into account Russia, the host country of the world championships, was to find out the “winner” in the choice of Italian travellers.
The data that Skyscanner collected from the 9th to the 15th of July, shows that, by the biggest number of searches, Croatia ranks 1st, making it “the winner” (+ 30%), followed by Belgium (+ 20%), while England and France are tied for third place.
Cities that had an increase in the number of searches compared to the week before the finals were Croatian cities: Zagreb, Pula, Split, Zadar and Dubrovnik. With a total of 5 cities in the top 10 search table, Croatia ranks 1st and is the “winner” of the world football championships in the opinion of Skyscanner users.
