
Data provided by the eVisitor system (commercial, non-commercial and boat charter tourist traffic in Croatia in 2017) showed that 18.5 million arrivals (+13%) and 102 million overnight stays (+12%) were recorded. These are record breaking tourist results for Croatia which solidifies its position as one of the top tourist destinations attracting more and more guests during the whole year.

Gari Cappelli, the Minister of Tourism and Kristijan Staničić, the General Director of the Croatian Tourist Board expressed their contentness with the results and announced a powerful effort towards achieving all-year-round tourism in 2018 based on sutainable development and destination management.
Minister Cappelli said that the tourist results during pre-season and post-season in 2017 are the greatest indicators of the success of short term improvements.
That’s why the strategy for 2018 is to continue upgrading the all year round offer in Croatia. This will also open the market for new tourist business activities, investments, better employee wages etc.
The Minister concluded that legislation changes brought forward by the Ministry of Tourism and the Croation Tourist Board will allow 2018 to be a very successful year by further boosing the development of new tourist foundations.
